Toyama was our gateway to Takayama. Here we found watermelons for
sale at a Department Store for 12000 yen (A$155)!
Takayama is set within the mountains of Gifu prefecture. It is a town with the rustic charm of old Japan and had been likened to a 'little Kyoto'. We strolled around the San-machi Suji old town area
