From Kanazawa, we went to the Otsu area which is by
Lake Biwa. We stayed at a Japanese style inn, the Tsuki-no-ya, at
Ishiyamadera, a small town close by.

Ishiyamadera refers to the temple in the vicinity which has very lovely
grounds and gardens. This temple is listed as a National Treasure.

The Tsuki-no-ya Inn, Ishiyamadera. With a welcome board like that,
we had no problems locating this inn!
Ishiyamadera - a national treasure, and place where Murasaki Shikibu
wrote her famous "the Tales of Genji" over a thousand years
ago and considered the greatest work of Japanese literature.
